Job Description: SAP Test Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Test Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand SAP system requirements and develop comprehensive test plans and strategies.
• Test Case Development: Design, develop, and document test cases and test scenarios that cover various SAP modules, functionalities, and integration points.
• Test Execution: Perform manual and automated testing of SAP applications, including end-to-end testing, system integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools, and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using relevant tools (such as SAP Test Acceleration and Optimization tools or third-party automation frameworks).
• Performance Testing: Conduct performance and load testing of SAP systems to ensure they meet defined performance and scalability benchmarks.
• Data Management: Create and manage test data required for different testing scenarios, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and security.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and defects. Provide status reports and updates to project teams and stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with SAP updates, new features, and testing best practices. Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the testing lifecycle.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure high-quality SAP solutions.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as an SAP Test Engineer or similar role, with a focus on testing SAP applications and systems.
• Strong understanding of SAP modules (e.g., SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA) and their integration points.
• Proficiency in designing and executing test cases for SAP applications, both manually and through automation.
• Familiarity with test automation tools, scripting languages, and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, UFT, Cucumber) is a plus.
• Experience with SAP testing tools and accelerators (e.g., SAP CBTA, SAP TAO) is beneficial.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) and methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and isolate defects effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple testing tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

Additional Information:

• • Industry certifications related to software testing or SAP (e.g., ISTQB, SAP Certified Application Associate) are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager for test management and documentation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with change management processes and version control systems.
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps practices can be beneficial.
