The Breakdown:

The Applications Development team at Burton operates across a broad scope of development activities and platforms. This includes development and support of new forms, application integrations, systems enhancements, in-application queries, and fully custom-built applications. We are looking for a passionate Software Developer to design, develop and install software solutions. Applications Developer responsibilities include translating user requirements into technical requirements, defining solutions based on technical requirements, build, unit test and document system functionality and writing code in various languages. They will work closely with the Applications Engineering Team and Data Engineering Team to understand requirements and capabilities and troubleshoot issues and errors. Our ideal candidate is technically curious, resourceful, able to learn new tools/technology quickly and willing to use their initiative. The role of the Applications Developer is to build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing code that complies with coding standards and technical design.

What You Get to Do/Requirements:

  • Develop, design, support, enhance, optimize, and troubleshoot
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand end user needs to be translated into technical solutions while monitoring scheduled production related tasks in the system(s) and resolving any questions or issues as needed to ensure accurate and timely results.
  • Comfortable developing software on Microsoft Windows operating system and using Microsoft development tools.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, debug and upgrade applications
  • Write and document well-designed, testable code
  • Comply with project plans and industry standards

What You'll Bring to the Team/Responsibilities Include:

  • BS degree in Computer Science
  • Knowledge and experience in 2 or more of the following technologies: .Net, C#, Javascript, VB.NET, HTML,
  • Effectively work with clients and ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of database structures
  • Understanding of Jira
  • Understanding of SOAP/Restful APIs
  • Experience with API testing using tools like Postman/Ready API
Skills that can set you apart:
  • Proven work experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer
  • Experience designing interactive applications
  • Experience with either Infor MEC Mapper (Eclipse IDE), ION integrations, IDM, or Mongoose
  • Ability to create technical specifications and documentation
  • Understanding of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) functionality

Travel: The position may require minimal travel.

Work/Physical Environment: This position is in a typical, stationary office setting. Over 80% of the day will be spent sitting in 1 location.

Our HQ is based in Burlington, Vermont. We will offer relocation assistance to any candidate who is hired if they are able to move to Burlington.
