Position Overview

As a Learning & Development Specialist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our employees, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools to excel in their roles.  The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in designing, developing, and implementing training programs.


Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

  • Training Program Development:
    • Design and develop comprehensive training programs tailored to meet the specific needs of our organization.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather relevant information and ensure training content aligns with business goals.
  • Curriculum Design:
    • Create engaging and effective training materials, including presentations, manuals, videos, and other resources.
    • Utilize instructional design principles to enhance the learning experience for participants.
  • Delivery and Facilitation:
    • Conduct training sessions for employees, utilizing various methods such as in-person workshops, virtual sessions, and e-learning modules.
    • Foster a positive and interactive learning environment, encouraging participant engagement and knowledge retention.
  • Assessment and Feedback:
    • Develop and implement assessments to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
    • Gather feedback from participants to continuously improve and refine training content and delivery methods.
  • Technology Integration:
    • Stay abreast of technological advancements in training tools and platforms.
    • Incorporate innovative technologies to enhance the delivery and accessibility of training materials.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with department heads and managers to identify training needs and align programs with organizational goals.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness in training initiatives.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and participant performance.
    • Generate reports on training effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
  • May be asked to perform additional duties as necessary

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years proven experience as a Learning & Development Specialist, Training Specialist, or similar role.
    • Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and technology-enhanced learning tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Training and Development, or a related field.
  • Certification in instructional design or training facilitation.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience with Articulate learning platform
  • Knowledge of regulations and compliance standards.
