Position Overview

Highly collaborative role across a wide variety of Home Office functions that is responsible for helping the company advance our business intelligence and analytical capability. By leveraging various data sources and research to deliver analysis of business drivers and consumer trends. This role spans grocery and foodservice channels, and helps shape sales and marketing strategies, while influencing decisions at the executive level. Deliverables will include routine monthly/quarterly reporting and creation of engaging/insightful presentations, using a storytelling approach.

The Insights Analyst position requires knowledge of and experience with CPG data sources, analytically savvy and curious, project management skills, and passion to serve with a continuous improvement orientation. Targeting a highly motivated team player who responds thoughtfully and urgently to growth opportunities and competitive threats. 

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

• Performs high level, in-depth business & category analyses using internal and external syndicated/custom data sources (IRI/Nielsen/Customer Loyalty Data); provides conclusions and recommendations.
• Utilizes consumer insights from various sources to help inform recommendations.
• Provides timely, accurate insights by compiling data from various resources to help internal clients, such as Marketing, Sales and Finance, take strategic action that supports the brand strategy.
• Works with Continuous Improvement, Business Intelligence, and IT to help build and manage systems that store and distribute product data and metrics to key stakeholders.
• Recognizes opportunities to increase sales by closing distribution and assortment gaps.
• Accountable for both standard reporting and executive level reporting, including monthly Brand Health Reporting and helping with board meeting presentations.
• Onboards new Sales and Marketing employees on available reporting and data sources.
• Assist with efforts to code all custom database new item attributes.
• May be asked to perform additional duties as necessary

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field from four-year College or university and/or
• 2 years of related experience in the CPG industry; foodservice and DSD experience a plus.
  • Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.
• Must have used IRI, Nielsen or 84.51 and have experience with heavy data mining, reporting and providing actionable insights using those sources.
• Must be Excel & PowerPoint proficient.
• Results-oriented with strong written/oral communication skills and project management skills.
• Able to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Thrives in a dynamic and transformative environment.
• Intellectually curious self-starter of high character and professional demeanor with positive, can-do attitude.
• Valid driver’s license.
