Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to participate on a collaborative team that supports the Corporate Accounting department in its mission to ensure that Cynosure’s financial reporting is timely, accurate and reliable. The position reports to the North America Controller and will be based out of Cynosure’s corporate headquarters (Westford, MA).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure revenue recognition is performed in accordance with ASC 606. This includes review of deals with standard as well as non-standard terms and escalating any potential risk issues to senior management for additional review.
- Preparing and posting various monthly intercompany transactions and entries, as well as performing the Intercompany account reconciliation and analysis.
- Reconciliation of various account balances.
- Assist month-end/year-end close.
- Support Internal Audit function as needed.
- Interact with professionals at Corporate and across the Company's subsidiaries.
- Develop a broad set of technical accounting skills through the research and analysis of technical accounting issues.
- Assist with the external reporting processes to comply with all applicable rules and standards.
- Support the implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned.
- Interact with external auditors related to annual financial audit and quarterly reviews.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment that requires managing multiple projects/tasks of different priority to management.
- Support the company’s continued implementation and ongoing monitoring of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Monitor and ensure both compliance with and documentation of compliance with Cynosure’s policies and procedures as outlined in various Company policies, including the Global Approval Authority Matrix and other mandatory policies pursuant to one’s job description.

Qualifications
Education
☒ Bachelor’s degree required
Specific Area of Study: BS in Accounting or Finance and a CPA certification a plus
Experience
☒ 5 to 8 years relevant experience
Specific Related Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience with public company accounting/financial reporting matters through either public accounting experience or industry experience. Experience with revenue recognition guidance preferred
