Product Ownership and Project Management Leader

Dorel is a global manufacturer of consumer products with revenues in excess of $1.5 billion.  We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Product Ownership and Project Management with a background in financial accounting and ERP implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading product ownership, project management, and ERP implementation initiatives across the organization.

PMO Leader

Dorel Home is looking for a motivated leader to oversee the product and project management processes and team including governance, team leadership, monitoring, prioritization, communication, and quality controls. This individual will work with the CIO and Executive leadership to identify high value projects that drive the digital transformation of Dorel Home. A proven track record of successful project delivery and technical product ownership and an ability to implement successful PMO processes and practices are crucial to this role’s success.  Additionally, the candidate will personally manage major initiatives as necessary: primarily focused on ERP innovations.  If you are a results-driven, collaborative leader with a passion for product ownership and project management, we encourage you to apply.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product ownership function to define and manage product roadmaps, backlogs, and release plans in alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide direct management of 6-8 direct reports to establish personal and professional goals, perform periodic performance reviews and remove obstacles for success.
  • Manage the project management function to ensure project delivery is on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Oversee the implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and meet the needs of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including business leaders, product owners, project teams, and IT teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
  • Ensure that product and project teams are following best practices, including agile methodologies and project management frameworks.
  • Provide regular reporting and communication to senior leadership on product ownership, project management, and ERP implementation progress and status.
  • Manage and mentor a team of product owners and project managers, providing coaching and development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, finance, accounting, or computer science.
  • 10+ years of experience in product ownership, project management, and ERP implementation, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting and ERP systems, including experience with implementation and customization.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and PMI.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with change management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with an AS400 and/or MAPICS/XA ERP a plus.
  • Experience managing order to cash, procure to pay and related business processes including integration between ERP and supporting systems a plus.
  • Advanced, relevant certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or CPA are a plus.
  • Experience with Qlik or similar Data Visualization tool a plus (ie, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, etc.)

 

This position is headquartered in our offices in Asheville, NC although we are open to location in our other corporate offices in Wright City, MO, or Montreal, QC. – remote or hybrid option is available, preference will be given to candidates who can be on site regularly or when necessary.
