HR Generalist
Position Summary
The HR Generalist responsible for the day-to-day management of personnel in our Savannah Georgia location (not a remote position). They also assist in the HR Business Strategy by helping acquire the right talent, motivate and retain that talent and assist in the administration of all company policies in regards to employees.
Essential Job Functions
- Presenting and communicating available employee benefits, programs, trainings to Savannah employees
- Support Talent Retention efforts through organizing and executing different employee programs
- Support Talent Acquisition efforts by interviewing and hiring employees for skilled positions in the warehouse
- Communicate with staffing agencies to staff temporary employees at all locations according to staffing needs
- Support the Onboarding of direct new hires
- Support and field employee relations cases and any employees issues as they may arise
- Manage time clock for both temporary and direct employees
- Administration of Performance Reviews and Talent Management processes
- Participate in monthly HR Forum with all HR professionals companywide in discussing the HR business strategy
- Upkeep and maintenance of employee records and various documents for senior management
- Participates in administrative staff meetings daily
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Operations and Corporate HR
- Education Requirements
- Four year degree in HR or related field, or equivalent experience is preferred, not required
- Prior Experience
- 2 - 4 years of HR Administration experience preferred in Distribution/Manufacturing environment
- 2 - 4 years in employee relations in a large distribution or manufacturing center environment
- Hard Skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience using an HCM system preferred in Paycor and knowledge in PeopleNet (temp time clock) preferred
- Knowledge of Skype/Zoom and other video conferencing software
- Soft Skills
- Strong sense of urgency and strong time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Cheerful personality, confident in speaking with people
- Excellent HR customer service skills and ability to work well with all employees
- Highly organized and ability to plan, follow up and execute on a variety of tasks
- Professional demeanor/conduct and hold company information confidential
- Ability to work with diverse and cross-functional teams
- Location: Savannah, GA (not a remote position)
