Senior Product Engineer (Remote)

Position Summary

The Senior Product Engineer is responsible for the creation and design of new or upgraded products. Duties include performing market analysis of competing products to determine and establish customer needs and requirements. You must provide design solutions for products and set up product specifications to meet business goals and perform test programs, hardware and set up issues in mass production to meet standards. Efforts are then placed into exceeding customer expectations for the benefit of the company brand.

Essential Job Functions

• Assisting Director of Engineering
  • Operates as hand off person on projects initiated by the Director of Engineering including:
    • New product evaluation
    • Development of solutions to product test failures
    • Value-engineering activities
      • Design for manufacturability / productive use of obsolete material.
      • Cost reduction to extend the production life cycle.
• R&D of new materials, processes, and technologies
  • Develops and documents Corporate Engineering standards.
  • Develops alternate materials for cost reduction and product improvement.
  • Development of new processes and changes to existing processes throughout the plants
  • Search for better manufacturing solutions.
  • Seek out and evaluate emerging technologies.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends.
• Quality Engineering
  • Assist with field questions, customer complaints and working with the sales force to maintain Ameriwood’s presence in the field as a quality RTA producer.

Qualifications

• Education Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical engineering or Similar Tech
  • Vocational schooling is accepted in place of Bachelor’s degree
• Prior Experience
  • 4 years of industrial experience in product engineering
• Hard Skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office abilities (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Skype/Zoom
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor 2022 (CAD software) and 3D MAX 2022 (Rendering software)
  • Must have Strong Analytical Skills
