We are currently searching for a Plant Manager for our Spencer, Tennessee facility.  The role will be based at our manufacturing facility and will report directly to our Vice President, Operations.

Come join our premier engineered fastening business!   We are looking for a Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing facility.  As a Plant Manager at our company, you will have the opportunity to use your creativity and ​​business acumen to increase efficiencies in order to deliver value to the bottom line.



Position Summary

Directs and coordinates activities of the facility to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits.


Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Profit and loss responsibility for the operations of the plant.

  • Responsible for overall environmental, health and safety performance of the operation.

  • Manages activities of departments such as operations, manufacturing, engineering, planning, sales, and maintenance to affect operational efficiency.

  • Guides operations towards continuous improvement of:  a safe working environment, Lean quality (reduction of scrap, customer issues), on-time deliveries, and reduction of machine set up timeframes.

  • Drives employee participation in:  following and improving upon safety and following all environmental and health rules and regulations.

  • Participates in current and long range planning of plant objectives and policies.

  • Analyzes budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocates operating budget.

  • Participates in the development of capital expenditure requests.

  • Dispenses advice, guidance, direction and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, consistent with established policies and top management approval.

  • Works with product development, sales and marketing to discern competitiveness of new technologies.

  • Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations.

  • Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the plant.

  • Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees and plans, monitors, and appraises performance.

  • Reviews operating results of the facility, compares them to established objectives and tasks steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.

  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing the plant budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

  • Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing project, operational and personnel policies and procedures.  Works with Human Resources to interpret company policies for employees.

  • Recommends methods to improve and make processes more efficient.

  •  Implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices.

  • Takes on special assignments as required.

  • Other duties as assigned by the manager


Qualifications-Education/Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing or related field

  • Minimum 5-7 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment, with increasing levels of responsibility

  • Ability to lead the business (plant) while improving efficiencies to drive the bottom line

  • Strong analytical ability and communication skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • Flexible, and adaptable with strong leadership capabilities

  • Proficient Office suite skills

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree

  • Fastener experience

  • Experience working with Lean Manufacturing systems

  • International experience


Travel Requirements: 25%
