Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:​​​​​​​
 
Job Description: 
  • System Operation and Maintenance – Perform backup/restore functions; upgrade/migrate system and/or database; maintain hardware, software and communication line.
  • System Administration and Documentation – Manage maintenance contract and invoice; control user access and disk storage; create system documentation and recommendation report; monitor system activity and handle error.
  • System Programming – Maintain and develop system administration/IT related utility.
  • User Support – Assist users/developers for system/database/network troubleshooting; conduct IT related research and case study.
  • Off-hours Duty – On-duty employee is required to be available and handle problem according to SOPs.
  • System Support and Troubleshooting – Troubleshoot system problem in a timely manner to support daily operations.
  • Special Assignment – Perform additional project or job task assigned by the manager
 
 
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:  MINIMUM COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR PRIOR TRAINING:
  • 4-year college degree with a major in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
  • Previous system administrator experience is a plus.
  • Master higher level skills in the specific job area.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills required.
  • Experience or competence of accomplished project with significant contributions.
  • Demonstrate exceptional teamwork and customer service; behave professionally; treat others with respect and dignity.
  • Physical requirements include duties common to a regular office environment.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as required.
