Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
Product Specialist
Act as a business center and liaison to internal cross-functional divisions to plan and implement product management by integrating diverse functions to maximize product profitability and achieve company strategic goals while meeting customer needs. Analyze, plan and facilitate multiple processes with critical impact on profitability including cost, price, inventory, volume, demand, production, capacity, product/account mix, and other related factors.
Job Description:
- Sales forecast management and planning:
- Review sales forecast, market demand, cost, pricing, production, inventory, etc., to propose optimal short/long term target/planning. Monitor and ensure target compliance and profitability optimization.
- Production/inventory management:
- Work with Sales to review target, customer requirement, cost, capacity, and logistics, etc., and monitor to maintain optimal inventory level. Prepare monthly activity reports.
- Pricing/account profitability management:
- Review market, cost, demand, pricing, business package, etc., to optimize pricing and profitability.
- Order/supply chain management:
- Review orders, contracts, monthly shipments and coordinate with other related parties for effective order processing and optimize supply chain management.
- Sales contract management/customer service standard:
- Negotiate and review contract terms and coordinates to establish customer service standard to support contracts fulfillment.
- Sample/potential customer management:
- Maintain pricing master, monitor market price tendencies and resolve discrepancies.
- House account management:
- Act as a window between Sales, Management, Production, Technical and the customer.
- Complaint/discrepancy handling:
- Coordinate the investigation/resolution of customer complaints.
- Analysis /special projects :
- Gather, compile, analyze, report, and make recommendations on pricing, volume, product/account mix, cost, logistics, rail car fleet utilization, contract, sample, potential account, competitive benchmarking, inventory, profitability.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONs REQUIRED
- 4 year college degree
- 3 yrs. business experience, preferably in sales/marketing, in Chemical/Plastics(with cost analysis experience preferred
- Strong analytical and computer skills in Microsoft Office. AS 400 skills a plus but not required.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (oral & written) skills a must.
- Ability to read, review, analyze and prepare computer reports, spreadsheets, and sales ledgers .
- Understanding of Spanish a plus
