Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

I.    POSITION OBJECTIVE 

Operation and Maintenance of the Lolita Packaging Public Water System. Ensure compliance with all State, Federal, and Corporate regulations, policies, and procedures.  Maintain documentation for all audits and regulatory reviews while sustaining a safe and healthful working environment that meets environmental, health and safety regulations, and company requirements.

 

II.    MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY 

POTABLE WATER / WASTE WATER OPERATIONS - Acts as the SME for Lolita Packaging LLC Public Water System III Distribution System Operations. Responsible for the compliance and implementation of Safe Water Drinking Act (SWDA) to all facility systems. Assists with detailed, task level, and day-to-day operations, utilizing standards and procedures to ensure applicable compliance tasks are completed in a timely fashion.  Assists in the implementation and maintenance of Lolita Packaging LLC programs, procedures, and compliance training.  Plays an active role in the identification of hazards and the implementation of regulatory, program, and procedure changes.

SAFETY - Maintain a safe and healthy workplace for all employees in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Assure compliance with all company safety, health, and security programs and practices. Provide management and leadership with timely and thorough reporting of all incidents to ensure all incidents are investigated properly. Take personal responsibility and ownership for safety, including bringing the attitude that “I am individually responsible for safety” to the job each and every day.

MAINTENANCE SUPPORT - Provide regulatory support to the Maintenance groups so that they can assist Operations in compliance with State and Federal Safety Regulations.  This will be achieved by interacting with the various process units to determine safety needs, regulatory interpretation and implementation in the form of policies and procedures, and responding to incidents as they occur to identify potential safety issues/impacts.

OPERATIONS SUPPORT – Provide regulatory support to the Operating Units which will enable the Unit to achieve smooth operation, manufacture high-quality products, and avoid unscheduled process interruptions.  This will be achieved by interacting with the various process units to determine safety needs, regulatory interpretation and implementation in the form of policies and procedures, and responding to incidents as they occur to identify potential safety issues.

THM - Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total Housekeeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.

 

III.    QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least ten (10) years of experience in a chemical manufacturing plant. A minimum of six (6) years of experience in Health & Safety related and/or Industrial Hygiene experience preferred. Previous operations experience with management of OSHA compliance preferred. Must hold a current TCEQ Class C Groundwater Treatment Operator License.
  • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of ten (10) years of direct job experience required. Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum of six (6) years of direct job experience preferred. Associate of Science with a minimum of eight (8) years of direct job experience.
