Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

The Process Engineer increases productivity by integrating plant assets, personnel, technology, energy, MIS, effective maintenance, instrumentation, production, raw material handling, and material flow processes. The Process Engineer will also assist in daily plant operations by interfacing and coordinating activities with plant personnel. Assist in improvement projects, data review, and operational objectives are all met. Information systems, including CPMS & DCS, PI are providing monthly, daily, and other reports. All while sustaining a safe and healthful working environment that meets environmental, health, and safety regulations and Company requirements.
Process Improvement: Utilizes recognized statistical process techniques and other measurement tools to develop, maintain and present required reports detailing the effectiveness of existing processes or supporting the need to introduce new processes. Issue Management of Change through the KMS system.  Follow up with any recommendations for abnormalities or incidents. Troubleshoot process abnormalities and make corrections and recommendations as necessary.

Lead and Facilitate the Fulfillment of Product Delivery and Commitments: Anticipate needs, work as a problem solver to eliminate blockages, and enhance the consistent delivery of quality products that exceed customer expectations. Manage, solve, and/or recommend a resolution to discrepancies, deviations, abnormalities, customer complaints, quality, and non- quality-related issues.
 
PSM:  Assist with elements of process safety and projects such as MOCs, PSI updates, and P&ID modifications.
 
Staff Development:  Keep up to date on Safety training and SOP training. Keep up to date on Memos, Read, and Sign communications. Assist in developing communication memos as necessary. Work with the hourly operators and Shift Supervisors to strive for excellence and professionalism.
 
Previous Related Experience Required
No prior experience is required but 1 ~ 2 experience in a petro-chemical refinery environment is a plus.
 
Technical Skills Required To Perform This Job
•Knowledge of Thermodynamics, Energy & material balance, Unit operations, heat/mass transfer, fluid statics and Dynamic, kinetics, engineering economies.
•Ability to train and learn.
•Wiliness to take over responsibility in your areas.
 
Education
B.S. Degree Chemical engineering; other related engineering disciplines considered.
 
Other Certification/Training Required To Gain Function-Related Technical Knowledge
•Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.
•Current employees must meet all technical and safety training requirements for current position, as specified in the Master Training Plan
