MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Must be at least 14 years old and customer service experience is preferred.

· Basic computer data entry skills required.

· Communication skills required, including ability to greet guests, answer telephone calls and answer questions/communicate YMCA programs and activities to guests.

· Must have the ability to obtain and maintain certifications in Child Abuse Prevention, Safety and Risk Management, and New Employee Orientation.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Greet members by name and welcome with a positive, professional attitude.

· Use laptop to scan membership cards for entry.

· Scan member’s card (when computer is down, have member sign in and code the visit).

· Check for invalid or expired cards and follow through by sending member to Member Service area for renewal.

· Assist with member/participant questions.

· Help with any medical emergencies and document as required by the YMCA rules and regulations.

· Provide a safe environment for all participants, volunteers and staff.

· Actively participate in the Invest-in-Youth annual campaign.

· Attend all staff meetings and trainings associated with the department.

· Arrive for scheduled shifts on time.

· Adhere to YMCA of Greater Indianapolis Professional Image (Dress Code) by wearing YMCA issued shirt and tan or black shorts according to Policy.

· May assist with balancing funds and receipts after each shift.
