How You Will Make an Impact

 

The experienced EHS Engineer at Reading Truck will identify and address needs for site Environmental permits and compliance programs related to the Environmental management system.  This oversite will apply to various locations within North America. This position will function out of the Reading corporate office location with travel estimated to be 25%.

 

The Nuts and Bolts

  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of various environmental programs 
  • NPDES permits, RCRA waste management, Hazardous Materials handling, Air permits, and state/local Environmental requirements, TRI and Sara 312/313
  • Analyze existing facilities, practices and procedures for compliance.  Where necessary, propose improvements and implement the Reading Truck EHS policies and procedures
  • Monitor and maintain compliance for existing environmental permits including monthly, weekly or quarterly reports
  • Maintain and identify opportunities for waste reduction
  • Maintain internal Environmental Management System (EMIS) which tracks all compliance activities across North American locations
  • Assist and manage contractors for permit renewals, modifications and notifications as necessary
  • Lead or participate as a team member for projects related to processes related to Environmental compliance.
  • Serve as liaison as needed with regulatory agencies
  • Generate and update policies or procedures as necessary to stay current with latest environmental regulations
  • Assist with planning and delivering Environmental training as needed
  • Assist with sampling and monitoring results from compliance related sampling events
  • Assist with corporate EHS audits and preparing for regulatory inspections.

 

Required Credentials

  • Minimum 4 Year Engineering Degree. Preferably in Environmental, Civil or Chemical discipline, or Environmental Science
  • 3-6 years’ experience in related field
  • Experience in manufacturing setting regulatory compliance preferable with job experience across diverse settings
  • Preference for professional certifications such as PE/EIT, HMM, IATA/DOT certified, Soil or Water Sampler, ISO, HAZWOPER
