SUMMARY                 

Lead the sourcing process to identify, negotiate and procure the required products and services
  for KFI

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develops and executes Strategic Sourcing initiatives and plans.
  • Interacts with Engineering and Sales to lead the sourcing of raw materials and outside supplier requirements for New Product Development Process.
  • Manages assigned projects to ensure on time, on budget delivery of raw materials and Supplier deliverables.
  • Negotiates with suppliers on quality, delivery, pricing, and all facets of specifications.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with suppliers.
  • Negotiates contracts with supply base to ensure KFI’s requirements are protected and delivers maximum benefit to KFI.
  • Identifies and implements new suppliers to produce cost savings on existing raw materials.
  • Knowledgeable on the procurement of raw materials for all plants.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to improve price, quality, lead time and minimum order quantities to increase Kruger Family Industries’ competitive advantage.
  • Lead in evaluations and audits of suppliers for compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Assist VP-Supply Chain on ad-hoc and formalized projects as assigned.
  • Assist Purchasing Managers in analyzing raw materials and finished goods to improve inventory levels, turns and cash flow requirements.
  • Knowledgeable of all contracts, major site service agreements, system's contracts, and major leases.
  • Be able to interpret and access all applicable Quality Standards and Customer specific requirement documents related to supply chain process(es).
  • Knowledgeable of suppliers within region and of market influence.
  • Understands product plans and life cycles for products produced.
  • Evaluates projects to apply appropriate purchasing financial concepts as related.
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university, three or more years related experience and/or training desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPM/APICS certification desirable; experience with ERP/MRP desirable.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Understands financial reports - income, cash flow and balance sheet
  • Must be knowledgeable in computers including current business planning online computer system

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described in this section are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  The majority of time will be spent in the office area; however, the employee will spend time in the production areas. 

The production area temperatures can fluctuate significantly based on the time of year.  The noise levels can be moderate to high.  The use of hearing protection and safety eyewear is required while on production floor.  The use of additional specific safety equipment may be required.  The noise level in the office is usually quiet. The noise level in production is usually moderate.
 

WORK AVAILABLITY AND TRAVEL

Must have the ability to work all shift schedules, periodic overtime and be available for periodic weekend work. 
 

Travel requirements: 20%
