Pre-Set-Up Tech

SUMMARY
Responsible for pre-production set up and postproduction tear downs. Involved with
mechanical set ups when needed and follows the daily tasks that are assigned by the
Set-Up Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Must be able to work assigned overtime to cover the functions of this position as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Must be able to work safely and consider the safety of others in the workplace at all times.
- Preparation of tooling, plug assists, clamp frames, fixtures, rails, lift tables, I-beams and any other job-related items ahead of the actual mold change.
- Set up all required tools with all the proper fittings for production. Follow SOP manual.
- Must be responsible for one’s own work.
- This position must also work to find ways to improve the set-up process, by reducing time and costs associated with performing set ups, along with improving the quality of the process and quality of products produced.
- Must be able to work within a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Stage all tooling, plugs, cooling frames and required set up components in the tool prep cell area prior to the required mold change.
- Must possess a forklift license.
- Must know the ERP system and use email and other company communication tools.
- Must understand the Master Set Up Sheet process and system.
- Perform any other assigned duties or job specific requests as required.
- Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Nevertheless, position may provide oversight and input to thermoforming, or other personnel involved directly or through the Production Supervisors, as it relates to shop activities for which this position is directly responsible. This position requires the individual to be a strong team player and an excellent communicator with a wide variety of people and positions.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledgeable in the basic functions of thermoforming machinery. Proven and demonstrated communication skills. Successful interaction in a cross-functional team environment. Must possess the ability to learn, retain areas that they are trained in. Must be able to problem solve and think on the go. This individual must be able to set up, all thermoforming tooling, patterns, and support equipment, per the SOP manual.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Proficiency in English is preferred. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and the ability to effectively present information to all levels of employees including top management in a variety of settings is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
WORK AVAILABLITY AND TRAVEL
Must have the ability to work all shift schedules, periodic overtime and be available for regular weekend work.
