In This Role, You Will:

  • Steer execution of procurement strategies for less-than-truckload procurement.

  • Develop annual procurement strategies to lead key stakeholders through freight cost planning.
  • Identify and develop excellent working relationships with strategic business stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of business requirements and to support the businesses in achieving margin targets and service performance to drive the best outcomes.
  • Provide procurement and market perspective in order to make recommendations to leadership and customers.
  • Create strategies to effectively engage with and manage the long tail of LSPs.
  • Regularly measure KPIs to assess performance against objectives; identify corrective actions should KPIs fall below goal.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with corporate governance.
  • Support complex negotiations for major contracts in partnership with Procurement and Management stakeholders in the businesses.
  • Work closely with Master Data teams to ensure streamlined and automated delivery of accurate routing data until entry into Transportation Management System.
  • Act as the leading subject matter expert and highest point of escalation within less-than-truckload procurement.
