Sales Associate - Toyota Chula Vista

Toyota Chula Vista is looking to hire a Sales Associate who strives to meet daily, weekly and monthly vehicle sales quotas. Sales Associates assist customers by demonstrating how to operate a vehicle, providing test drives, and identifying costs associated with the purchase.   

Salespeople are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.

Compensation: 
Employees in this position will be paid a base hourly wage at the applicable minimum wage rate ($16.30), plus commissions. Commission amounts vary based on performance, but the expected average annual earnings are approx. $60,000 to $200,000. The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum pay range expected for this role. Compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.   

Responsibilities:

- Assisting customers who enter the dealership, answering their questions and helping them select a vehicle that is right for their needs.

- Selling a minimum number of vehicles based on the goals and objectives defined by the sales manager.   

- Explaining product performance, application and benefits to prospects and describing all optional equipment available for customer purchase.

- Offering test drives to all prospects and following dealership procedure to obtain proper identification prior to test drive.

- Keeping abreast of new products, features and accessories available, and translating their benefits to customers.

- Referring closed deals to the finance and insurance (F&I) manager along with properly completed paperwork (insurance information, trade title, etc.).

- Preparing sold vehicles for customer delivery prior to customer arrival, ensuring that the customer understands the vehicles operating features, warranty and paperwork.

- Introducing customers to service department personnel to emphasize the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealerships service department.

- Following up on all post-delivery items including tag/title work, and any special requests to be sure that all customer expectations are met.

- Maintaining a buyer follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.

- Salespeople should have excellent communication skills, be organized and able explain the products, their features and benefits compared to competing brands.  

- Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  
Education/Experience:

- High School Diploma required

- A valid state sales license is required.

- A valid state driver's license is required.

Physical Demands: 

- Regularly stands, walks, sits; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; talks and hears. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; lifts up to 15 pounds. 
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
 

Environment/Noise: 

- Noise level is moderate. 
 

Required Skills/ Abilities:

-  Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g., the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
