Area Process Manager- Recaust

Sylvamo’s Ticonderoga, NY Mill is located on the shores of Lake Champlain.  In operation since 1971, the mill produces high end printing and technical papers harvested from Adirondack and Vermont forests.  We employ over 600 dedicated employees focused on safety, environment, quality and production.

The Recaust Area Process Manager is responsible for maintaining day to day operational stability of the lime and liquor cycle within the causticizing plant.  Ensures compliance with safety and environmental expectations. Provides floor presence to engage, empower, and help team members excel in their job responsibilities. Monitors critical process parameters and provides direction for the operating crews to maintain processes.  Assures accountability of behaviors and results with one on one coaching. Responsible for crew compliance with established work systems such as, basic care, lab testing, quality metrics, tank inspections, safety equipment inspections, procedures, running the process in control, etc. Identifies potential safety and reliability issues and takes measures to proactively address the issues.  Assists with crew training, safety meetings, and housekeeping efforts. Supports long-term improvements and cost reduction efforts for the area. Fosters an environment of continuous improvement through embracing change, improving written procedures, and professionally challenging current operating limitations/barriers. Active member of capital project teams when applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering fields
• Must have strong leadership skills and a proven track record of improving employee engagement
