Operating Technician - Sumter

Sylvamo, a major pulp and paper producer, is seeking its next generation of top operators for the Sumter Sheet Converting Facility. We are looking for dependable women and men with excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills to fill our challenging position as an Operating Technician. The plant and the organization were designed in concert for the team concept. The Sumter Sheet Converting Facility is a 220,000 square foot plant the houses two – 86” width and 69” width ECH Will precision sheeters and 6 Packaging Lines producing over 285,000 tons. The plant is staffed by a salaried workforce of 116 people.

Minimum Job Requirements:

At least 18 years of age

Eligible for employment in the U.S.

High school diploma or GED

Must be willing to:

• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment and submit to random drug screens
• Work a 12-hour modified rotating shift
• Work holidays and weekends as they fall into the 12 hours modified rotating shift work schedule
• Work in a self-directed team-based environment
• Must be safety conscious, flexible and have good communication skills.
• Wear required safety equipment
• Manufacturing experience preferred
