SaaS Principal Architect- Remote within the US

Job Summary/Objective

Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) and business consultant for the design, architecture, development and quality control of development and integration initiatives. Assists the ART Leadership Team with managing day-to-day work activities, and helps to provide coaching and guidance to team members through product development and integration projects. Provides support and mentorship to newly hired team members.

 

Key Responsibilities & Duties (essential to the job)

  1. Provides technical management consultation and support for assigned applications. Helps ART Leadership with identifying and distributing work assignments and communicating timelines.
  2. Works with Product Owners to produce and maintain a prioritized product roadmap and strategy.
  3. Facilitates technical implementation planning with developers on the team.
  4. Works with cross-functional leaders to identify and set quality standards and parameters for the quality assurance team, product team, and other appropriate staff.
  5. Collaborates and communicates with cross-functional teams, and works closely with the department leaders to identify gaps or barriers, and develop strategies to help the teams overcome blockers in order to continue making progress on commitments and deliverables that are on time and within the expected scope and quality.
  6. Assumes responsibility for production insight and operating the application. 
  7. Collaborates and leads the profiling of existing applications to identify performance bottlenecks and solution implementation.
  8. Adheres to prescribed agile methodology and enhances the process for the team’s specific needs.
  9. Coordinates performance testing to determine scalability and stability of new and existing products.
  10. Leverages a forward-thinking and proactive approach toward developing the necessary architecture.

 

Education

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, with a focus in Computer Science or related discipline. In the absence of a degree, equivalent work experience directly related to the key responsibilities of the role will be considered as a substitute for the degree.

 

Experience, Skills and Key Competencies

 

At least 7 years of experience with software development, to include a background in Agile and Scrum methodologies and program increment planning, proven experience delivering creative solutions to complex problems with multiple stakeholders, an understanding and experience with cloud computing and development of architecture for multiple products, plus previous experience navigating a start-up product/department/division/company.

 

Experience, Skills and Key Competencies

Must also be able to demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

  • Working knowledge of different technology stacks and tools, such as Net, Azure, Javascript, Gerkin, and BDD framework.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships across teams in an effort to drive work forward.
  • Understanding of containerization and dynamic environment setup, Neoload, etc.
  • Can effectively organize and manage day-to-day work and priorities, and use time, energy and resources to meet goals, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Able to communicate in a respectful, positive and constructive manner, even during times of challenge and frustration.
  • Able to work in an independent and self-directed manner, and proactively drive work initiatives forward.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work, and can easily adjust to shifts in priorities as the needs of the business change.
  • Comfortable with providing guidance, feedback, and coaching to peers, to ensure teams are prioritizing and focusing on the right business needs.

 

Special Position Requirements

  • Travel for this position is required and expected to be up to 20% of work time, and requires the ability to obtain/maintain a Passport for travel to international OEC locations including but not limited to Canada, Poland, and India.
